How To Setup Your Computer For Bigsweeps
If you are having difficulty with any of this site's tools or functions, there are a number of steps you can take to solve the problem. These are listed below.
Javascript: Javascript is a requirement for many sites and is no exception. Your browsers must have Javascript enabled. With Firefox, Javascript is enabled by default. With Internet Explorer (IE), you may have to check or make sure. This is done as follows.
  1. Go to Tools > Internet Options
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Click the Internet Zone and then the Custom Level button.
  4. Scroll down to Scripting and make sure Active Scripting is enabled. While you're there, also enable Scripting of Java Applets, as some of our advanced functions use these.
Compatibility View: It is difficult, if not impossible, for web sites to be compatible with all browsers and versions. For this reason, some browsers have what is called "Compatibility View". If some things don't seem to work with IE, try setting compatibility as follows. Firefox does not have an equivalent function.
  1. Go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings
  2. Type in or and press the Add button.
Java: Java is not the same thing as Javascript but an entirely different scripting language. uses Java applets with its advanced sweepstakes lists. To make these lists operable, you must both have Java installed, enabled as was explained above and setup with operable security settings. The latter is done as follows:
  1. Go to Start menu and select Java from the list of programs.
  2. Select the Security tab on the Java Control Panel that opened.
  3. Press the Edit Site List button and add to the Exception Site List.

With Firefox, you have to use the Java plug-in. See How to allow Java on trusted sites    IMPORTANT NOTE: Versions of Firefox updated after Feb. 1017 may no longer support Java, making the MyList and related functions unusable. Use IE insted for these.
Cookies and Trusted Sites: uses cookies to manage browser sessions and allow you to move freely from one set of tools to another. By default, Firefox has cookies enabled. With Internet Explorer, you may have to make Bigsweeps a Trusted Site as follows.
  1. Go to Tools > Internet Options
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Click the Trusted Sites Zone and then the Sites button.
  4. Type in add and press the Add button.

You may also have other security blocks on third part sofware (e.g, anti-virus) that will block cookies unless is added to their trusted site list.
